Israeli construction company Shikun & Binui Ltd announced on 7 February that it has secured a contract to build an airport in Uganda.
The airport will be in a rural area of the oil-drilling region near Hoima and Lake Albert in northwestern Uganda. SBI – the international division of Shikun & Binui – is building the airport to support development of the Ugandan oil industry.
Aspects of the project include a 3.5 km paved runway, a small terminal building, communications and navigation systems, a cargo terminal, and an air traffic control tower.
