The European Court of Justice (ECJ) has rejected appeals from six freight forwarder groups against fines imposed by the European Commission over claims that they participated in four international cartels between 2002 and 2007.
The companies concerned are CEVA Freight; Kühne + Nagel International; DB Schenker; Deutsche Bahn; Panalpina; and UTi Worldwide. They had appealed against a EUR169 million (USD208 million) total fine, imposed in 2012.
The six freight organisations participated in four cartels (although only Kühne + Nagel and DB Schenker participated in them all).
