The latest version of Coflight – one of two flight data processors (FDPs) under development in Europe – was displayed at the 2018 World ATM Congress in March. New users are also being lined up and additional capabilities are being explored.
Coflight was launched in 2001 in a partnership between French air navigation service provider (ANSPs) DSNA, its Italian counterpart ENAV, and two manufacturers (Leonardo and Thales). Two more ANSP users – skyguide (Switzerland) and MATS (Malta) – have since joined, and discussions are now under way with HungaroControl and members of the COOPANS alliance.
“Coflight is sufficiently mature to fit with standard interfaces,” ENAV Project Manager Vittorio Pascucci told Jane’s .
