Nokia reports that more than 12 air navigation service provider (ANSP) customers now use its NOKIA 7705 Service Aggregation Router (SAR) to provide an interface between multiple ground-to-ground communications systems.
ANSPs such as skyguide (Switzerland), Isavia (Iceland), and Avinor (Norway) use the Nokia platform to support Internet Protocol (IP) and legacy communications as part of a phased transition to IP technology.
Since acquiring Alcatel-Lucent in 2016, Nokia has invested in enhancing and modifying its router technology to comply with the most stringent air traffic management (ATM) standards.
“We understand the safety requirements for ANSPs,” said Mervyn Harris, Nokia director Air Traffic Management.
