Autonomous shuttles are being evaluated at a French airport for the first time in a trial involving Groupe ADP, bus transport operator Keolis, and Navya.
The pilot project with two Navya vehicles began in April and will finish in July. The shuttles carry passengers between the Charles de Gaulle Airport RER station and Groupe ADP headquarters in the airport business district.
The Navya vehicles can transport up to 15 passengers, with seats for 11, at a maximum speed of 25 km/h. The free service is available on demand by scanning a QR code on a smartphone.
“Autonomous transport services will play a key role in our aim to create a new generation of connected airports.
