Indra introduced new flow management software in March 2018, designed to enhance airspace capacity and minimise delays.
Indra worked closely with launch customer NATS to develop the Airspace Capacity Manager (iACM) that is due to begin operations at Swanwick in mid-2019, followed by integration into full operational service in 2020.
The software is designed to operate with any flight data processor and Indra says it has received interest from other air navigation service providers (ANSPs) in Europe and elsewhere. Indra ATM Director Javier Tejerina told Jane’s that the tool is designed to help ANSPs manage airspace capacity on a daily basis as well as plan ahead for events such as the Olympics, or strikes.
