Checkpoint computed tomography (CT) systems have been trialled at Tokyo Narita, as Japanese aviation officials prepare for a spike in traffic surrounding the 2020 Olympic Games.
A single ConneCT machine underwent two weeks of live operational tests. “Data from these airport trials is invaluable from a product development and CONOPS perspective. We are learning a lot about performance of the system, and adjustments are ongoing,” Stone of Analogic noted.
IDSS also submitted its DETECT 1000 machine for field tests at Narita, where the system was also inspected by other operators of other Asian airports (such as Bangkok Suvarnabhumi, Hong Kong, and Kansai).
