Siemens Postal, Parcel & Airport Logistics (SPPAL) is providing a tray-based baggage-handling system for the new four-storey satellite midfield terminal at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi.
Thai infrastructure company Loxley and other partners are integrating the BHS.
The energy-efficient solution is based on lightweight VarioTrays, while conveyor belts run over rollers to prevent dynamic friction.
The BHS is designed for throughput of 10,800 pieces of baggage per hour, with a top speed of 10 m/sec along a 950 m tunnel that connects the satellite BHS with the main terminal complex at Suvarnabhumi.
