Aéroports de Montréal (ADM) reached a landmark in its environmental sustainability programme on 31 May, when it deployed its first 100% electric-drive light service vehicle.
The truck was converted into an electric vehicle by local firm Ecotuned Mobile, using patented technology.
ADM expects to cut vehicle operating costs by 80% and maintenance costs by 50% with the new vehicle, which will also lower greenhouse gas emissions by up to nine tonnes per year.
