Hensoldt reports completion of a EUR50 million (USD59 million) contract to install its Airport Surveillance Radar – Next Generation (ASR-NG) at six military airfields in Canada, after successful site acceptance tests.
In all, seven ASR-NGs and two spare systems were provided to the Canadian Department of National Defence. Local partner Lockheed Martin Canada assisted in the rollout.
ASR-NG comprises a primary radar for wide-area airfield surveillance and detection of non-cooperative targets, and a secondary radar with Mode S-capable MSSR 2000 I monopulse for automatic identification of transponder-equipped aircraft.
