IATA and CAAS put a SPARC into predictive safety

13 June 2018

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) and the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) are launching a Global Safety Predictive Analytics Research Center (SPARC) in Singapore.

SPARC is the predictive analytics extension of the IATA Global Aviation Data Management (GADM) platform that is managed in Montreal, Canada. The establishment of this project complements and leverages the data collection, access to IATA-member airlines network, and other capabilities inherent in the GADM programme, as well as the relevant infrastructure and intellectual capital already well-established within Singapore.

“Through SPARC’s work, we aim to enable the industry to optimise its safety efforts by developing ‘win-win’ system-level solutions underpinned by trust, collaboration, and innovation,” said Tsen Yong Lim, IATA-CAAS Project Liaison Lead.
