Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) and IER have sealed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to enhance travel experience by allowing faster and smoother passenger processing through every touchpoint in the terminal, from check-in to boarding gate.
The two parties will jointly design innovative passenger solutions that meet the demands of the Airports 4.0 digitalisation and automation initiative from MAHB. Airports 4.0 forms part of the MAHB Runway to Success 2020 plan, which covers all 39 airports in the Malaysian operator’s portfolio but applies particularly to its main asset, Kuala Lumpur International.
France-headquartered IER will use its track record of developing self-service technology to enhance the passenger experience at MAHB airports, but will also work with the operator to develop new technologies and services, which could result in joint intellectual property to sell to airports outside Malaysia.
