Farnborough 2018: Officials set sights on Xi’an aerotropolis

Officials from Shaanxi Province in China announced during the Farnborough International Airshow that they plan to develop Xi’an Xianyang International Airport into an airport city, including the provision of commercial aircraft logistics facilities, maintenance, repair and overhaul workshops, and aircraft component manufacturing.

Two new terminals will be added at Xi’an Xianyang, bringing the total to five and raising annual passenger capacity to 120 million. In 2017, the airport processed 41.86 million passengers.
