Construction is under way on a USD34 million concourse at Akron-Canton Airport in the United States, as the final component in a USD110 million capital improvement project called CAK 2018. Completion of the new concourse is expected in late 2019 or early 2020.
Expanding out from the south end of the existing terminal building, the two-level concourse covers 41,000 ft2 (3,800 m2 ). Seven gates on the upper level will be equipped with passenger boarding bridges (PBBs) supplied by Ameribridge. Two other gates with PBBs will be on the ground level.
The largest aircraft accommodated at Akron-Canton on a regular basis is the A320.
