Pay rise is on the cards, says PANYNJ

10 October 2018

Minimum-wage workers at airports run by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) are to benefit from a pay rise.

About 40,000 workers are covered by the plan, under which the PANYNJ will raise hourly minimum pay to USD19 by 2023. This is above the statutory USD15 per hour minimum wage being introduced in New York from January 2019 (New Jersey intends to follow suit).

The PANYNJ expects the wage increase to add USD330 million per year to its annual wage bill.
