IATA GPS highlights passenger demands for more and better data

11 October 2018

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) published the results of its 2018 Global Passenger Survey (GPS) during the Global Airport and Passenger Symposium (GAPS) in Athens on 2–4 October, identifying key expectations of passengers and gauging their satisfaction with industry performance.

Results showed that passengers want awareness of how their bags are handled, with 56% saying they favour baggage tracking throughout the journey. Additionally, 15% would welcome having their bags picked up at home and delivered to the airport, and 13% would like to drop off their bags at an off-airport location.
