Finavia launched a request for information (RFI) on 4 October to assess options for future procurement of common use self-service (CUSS) equipment at Helsinki International Airport.
The operator is seeking potential providers of new hardware and software for Helsinki Terminal 1 (T1), with the aim of increasing its self-service capabilities by 10%. A combination of eight check-in kiosks and eight bag tag printing kiosks would improve the first step of a two-stage self-service process.
Equipment could either fit into the terminal’s existing CUSS infrastructure, or be acquired as a service. Finavia is exploring new technologies such as kiosks with chip and PIN payment, biometric authentication, and RFID capabilities.
