The Polish Air Navigation Services Agency (PANSA) is inviting proposals from industry to meet its plans for a remote virtual tower (RVT) with integrated controller working position (iCWP) at Lodz Wladyslaw Reymont Airport.
With the RVT, controllers will not only be able to provide improved air traffic services at Lodz, but also at the regional Zielona Gora Airport about 280 km away.
As a result, PANSA believes, air traffic control (ATC) at Lodz would operate to a higher standard of efficiency, while also cutting costs by providing coverage for Zielona and keeping abreast of technical innovations.
The proposed iCWP would interface with an aeronautical fixed telecommunications network (AFTN), a collaborative decision-making system (CDM), and a voice communications system (VCS), as well as multiple weather observation and terminal information services.
