Eindhoven Airport in the Netherlands has introduced the ITW GSE 7400 fully electric ground power unit (GPU) into daily use.
The first aircraft turnaround was with a Transavia B-737-800. The GPU was integrated with support from Viggo Eindhoven Airport, which provided input on the functional specifications.
ITW GSE developed the 7400 with Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and Nissan, and it was launched in October 2017 at inter airport Europe. The modular GPU is designed for use even at gates without fixed 400 Hz power infrastructure. Its Nissan Leaf lithium-ion battery packs are blended with core features of the legacy ITW GSE 2400 solid-state converter.
