Haneda developers put fallow land to use

07 November 2018

The Haneda Mirai Development Company, in association with Ota City, has announced plans to build three new facilities on unused land at Tokyo Haneda Airport.

Initial operations are planned for June 2020 with a grand opening to follow in 2022.

The first phase of the project includes development of a National Strategic Special Zone, which provides a ‘sandbox’ for the DENSO Corporation and partners to conduct research and development (R&D) on advanced driver assistance technology and fully automated vehicles.

The research centre is planned under the umbrella of the Leading Edge Industries Project, which occupies an equal area of the new site alongside Cultural Industries and Common projects.
