SITA has acquired Canada-based MEXIA Interactive, which specialises in airport passenger data analytics.
The value of the deal was undisclosed.
SITA and MEXIA announced on 6 November that the deal will augment the former’s portfolio of airport operations and passenger flow management solutions. “This is a market where SITA is strongly focused and where we can deliver real value,” said CEO Barbara Dalibard.
MEXIA’s clients include major international hub Singapore Changi, as well as New York LaGuardia, Dallas Love Field, and regional airports in the UK (such as Liverpool John Lennon and both Belfast airports).
SMRT_FLOW, SMRT_Q, and SMRT_BI solutions from MEXIA use sensors to deliver actionable predictive data to airport operators, to warn of potential bottlenecks in the terminal and boost non-aeronautical revenue.
