UK-based Kromek has been awarded another contract from an unnamed original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of airport x-ray baggage screening systems.
The five-year deal is worth at least USD7.8 million, Kromek announced on 19 November.
The OEM is an existing customer of Kromek, which in 2017 announced contracts for integration of its cadmium zinc telluride (CZT) detectors with in-service baggage screening systems. CZT is a spectral converter of x-rays, which Kromek says allows for improved material identification in security applications.
