South Korea orders Gunnebo gates

21 November 2018

Gunnebo has won an order from Korea Airport Corporation for biometric pre-security access gates.

A total of 14 automated gates will be installed at Seoul Gimpo and Jeju international airports. Gunnebo will work with local systems integrator BZ System. Positioned before the security screening area, the gates will process up to 40 passengers per minute to the departure lounge at the two airports.

An LCD display instructs passengers on how to present boarding passes for verification. Readers on each gate check printed or mobile boarding passes for validity. Data can be checked against the flight information system. The installations at Gimpo and Jeju also include a passport/travel document reader and facial recognition technology.
