Power Technology Industries (PTI) has introduced a new passenger boarding bridge- (PBB-) mounted 90 KVA ground power unit (GPU), offering reduced noise and greenhouse gas emissions at the gate.
PTI was launched in September as a sister company of Florida-based Verde GSE, which manufactures electric-powered preconditioned air (PCA) units that can be mounted on PBBs weighing 30–120 tonnes. Verde customers include UPS and military users, and the green PCA systems have been installed at Louis Armstrong International in New Orleans, as well as Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International and Orlando International.
