Brasov start procurement for passenger terminal

24 December 2018

The Romanian National Authority for Public Procurement has endorsed tenders for the terminal construction at International Airport Brasov-Ghimbav (AIBG).

The passenger terminal project, which will be financed by the Brasov County Council (BCC), is reportedly set to cost USD33 million, USD22 million of which will be assigned to the construction and installation process and USD11 million to environmental protection.

Following months of regulatory gridlock, the green light means that procurement is due to start on 27 January, with the selected company given just three months to complete its design and eight months for most of its construction.

Adrian-Ioan Veştea, president of the BCC, said, “We have all the prerequisites to be confident that in 2019 we will build a large part of the airport components.
