Italian air navigation service provider ENAV is upgrading air traffic control tower equipment at Tripoli International Airport.
A contract from the Libyan Civil Aviation Authority, worth up to EUR2.9 million (USD3.3 million) if options are exercised, includes supply and installation of three new controller workstations; integration and deployment of ground-air-ground and ground-ground communication systems; and the roll-out of infrastructure for data and wireless networks.
Completion is scheduled for late 2019.
Also in Tripoli, ENAV is supporting construction of a new control tower and technical building in Mitiga International Airport. The new tower is set for completion in March 2019.
