A team at Emirates has developed an app to aid turnarounds at Dubai International Airport.

Hub Monitor provides information on all Emirates aircraft in Dubai (255 departures per day). The app integrates data from various Emirates platforms and real-time aircraft downlinks. It then provides the consolidated data in a single-view interface to relevant internal stakeholders. It is used by multiple Emirates teams (and ground-handler dnata) at Dubai International to share and monitor real-time data on turnarounds. A proactive alerting system helps avoid delays and improve on-time performance by triggering alerts to operational staff when there is any deviation from the pre-defined schedule.

The mobile-enabled app took five months to develop and deploy. Early results indicate that Hub Monitor can help Emirates cut delays at its main hub airport. Emirates A380 turnarounds at Dubai currently take about 105 minutes, with about 90 minutes for its B-777s.
