Detection Technology (DT) has acquired fellow x-ray detector manufacturer MultiX for an undisclosed sum.
The deal includes all the assets, licensing agreements, and patents previously owned by MultiX.
Finland-based DT provides x-ray imaging detectors for air cargo screening, checkpoint baggage scanning, and passenger screening. A modular design enables DT to customise the configuration of the detectors.
”The deal is a long-term strategic investment. We expect the MultiX business to generate a loss in 2019”, said DT president and CEO Hannu Martola.
”According to our estimation, the direct conversion market has just started to develop, and its size now is some tens of millions of euros,” he noted.
