Kyrgyz WAM completes site acceptance tests

11 January 2019

The NEO wide-area multilateration system (WAM) from ERA has passed site acceptance at Osh International Airport in Kyrgyzstan.

NEO covers the terminal manoeuvring area and two en-route flight corridors around the airport.

Prime contractor ERA worked with local partner Asiainfo to complete the project for air navigation service provider Kyrkgyzaeronavigatsia, about 18 months after the contract award in March 2017. The new system, including nine ground stations (with the potential for more) replaces obsolescent secondary surveillance radar equipment at Osh International.
