Netherlands-based MEP is set to complete a voice communication system (VCS) upgrade at RAF St Athan in the UK with communication specialist Copperchase in March 2019 when the facility completes the transition from a military airbase to a civil airport.
“In collaboration with Copperchase, the communication systems will be completely renewed to bring it [St Athan] in line with current civil regulations,” MEP announced on 22 January.
MEP is also working closely with Copperchase to supply and install four replacement ED137-compliant VCSs for Highlands and Islands Airports Limited (HIAL) to replace existing systems at Dundee, Inverness, Kirkwall, and Sumburgh. Completion of this project is scheduled for 2020.
