First SVIP projects reach fruition

The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) has reported the successful transition of start-up solutions in 2018 under its Silicon Valley Innovation Program (SVIP).

Tamr developed the first project to graduate from SVIP to the field, with a software enhancement to the Global Traveler Assessment System (GTAS), used by US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to screen airline data for terrorists in line with UN Resolution 2178.

The Tamr software improves entity resolution with an integrated code inside the core GTAS application, via analysis of multiple datasets to determine matches between entities, datasets and possible relationships.
