Sales at Spain-based IT group Amadeus increased by 6.6% in 2018 to reach EUR4.94 billion (USD5.6 billion), while pre-tax profits grew by 9.7% to EUR2.04 billion.
The trend towards digitalisation and self-service in the air transport industry helped Amadeus to win new customers for its Airport IT business in 2018, including Billund Airport in Denmark where it provided its Altéa Departure Control System and Amadeus Baggage Reconciliation System.
ASA Cape Verde Airports ordered a mobile version of the Amadeus Airport Common Use Service (ACUS) system, and the company also signed contracts for its Extended Airline System Environment (EASE) with major US international airports such as Los Angeles and New York JFK.
