WATM 2019: Raytheon teams with Frequentis

12 March 2019

Raytheon Intelligence, Information, and Services (IIS) is teaming with Frequentis to provide remote virtual tower technology in the US.

The agreement supports civil airports of all sizes and operational complexity, where remote virtual towers can provide an affordable alternative to costly brick and mortar towers through the use of video-based air traffic services.

Frequentis is already supplying its remote virtual tower to the US Department of Defense (DoD) to provide fixed and deployable systems, for an operational assessment under a contract awarded in October 2018.

Raytheon IIS director of air traffic systems automation Jack McAuley told Jane’s that there is a natural fit between the two companies.
