Seville will become the first Spanish airport to introduce an electric passenger bus for airside operations.
The ZK6140BD apron bus will enter service in April according to ground-handler Aviapartner and Air-Rail, the Madrid-based supplier and owner of the Chinese-built Zhengzhou Yutong bus.
This is the first time that a Zhengzhou Yutong bus has been deployed at a European airport, said Air-Rail sales manager Jose Manuel Garcia Arrechea.
Aviapartner corporate director Tais Iglesias Arauzo said the move to electric transport fitted in with a clean energy commitment from the ground-handling company.
