Unmanned aircraft system (UAS) traffic management (UTM) technology developer AirMap is collaborating with Indra to provide digital infrastructure for integration of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in low-level urban airspace.
AirMap and Indra each develop open-architecture technologies that facilitate the easy integration of third-party systems and applications, and “will provide the scalability necessary to adapt to the needs of each client, whether it is a town council or the authority responsible for managing the traffic of an entire country”, Indra claimed.
Both parties bring UTM experience to the partnership, with AirMap’s expertise in UTM software – and its US market presence – complemented by Indra’s global market reach and its work on air traffic management technology, as well as counter-UAV protection.
