Kansas City to consolidate terminals

10 April 2019

Kansas City International Airport and Edgemoor Infrastructure Real Estate are combining in a USD1.5 billion public-private partnership for terminal consolidation.

The goal is to replace the existing three-terminal layout at Kansas City International with a single terminal encompassing 1 million ft 2 , with 39 gates on two concourses but designed to accommodate up to 50 gates with further expansion potential.

Completion of the new single terminal is scheduled for 2023. It will occupy the footprint of the existing Terminal A, which has been decommissioned before a planned demolition.

Other components of the project include a 6,300-space car parking structure, a central utility plant, and miscellaneous landside and airside improvements.
