Carlyle and Schneider form smart infrastructure JV

17 April 2019

Automation systems specialist Schneider Electric and investment firm Carlyle Group are extending their partnership to cover new airport infrastructure projects.

A joint venture (JV) called AlphaStruxure will focus on development of smarter infrastructure projects and more reliable distributed energy or microgrid networks.

A Schneider Electric microgrid is already expected to be used in the New York JFK Terminal 1 (T1) redevelopment programme, in which Carlyle Group is involved. According to both companies, a microgrid would reduce T1 energy consumption by up to 30%.
