A year on from the official deadline to implement the EU Passenger Name Record (PNR) directive, the legislation is still not fully implemented by all EU countries although only a few stragglers remain, according to industry sources.
However, European airlines and other aviation stakeholders are more worried about the cost and operational implications of technical centres, known as Passenger Information Units (PIUs), which EU member states are setting up to collect the data.
