XRD developer wins more DHS work

30 April 2019

UK-based HALO X-Ray Technologies Ltd (HXT) is to develop and implement an automatic threat resolution for checkpoint and hold baggage screening in the US, under a USD1.66 million contract from the Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate (DHS S&T).

HXT will integrate its X-ray diffraction (XRD) system with automatic threat resolution into an existing dual-view checkpoint scanner. “The goal is to build a combined system that can automatically resolve alarms and reduce the need for manual intervention,” according to DHS S&T, as part of its Screening at Speed Program.
