The air transport industry must focus on delivering an improved customer service for the travelling public, Dubai Airports CEO Paul Griffiths said on 29 April at the CAPA Middle East & Africa Aviation Summit.
In his keynote speech, Griffiths called for a truly seamless end-to-end solution for passengers, based on a global standard. “We need another IATA initiative to turn a global document of travel into a reality.”
Airports and airlines are exploring the potential of seamless passenger processing, either independently or within the IATA One ID programme, but Griffiths urged for “an end to the various [types of] documentation required to complete the journey, [to] consolidate that data into a single ‘go and don’t go’ decision point”.
