GACA appoints Al-Mansouri as new president

15 May 2019

Uncertainty over the direction of the Saudi Arabian aviation sector came to an end on 6 May with the appointment by royal decree of Abdulhadi Al-Mansouri as president of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA).

Al-Mansouri is a former deputy transport minister in the Saudi government.

The sacking of previous GACA president Abdulhakim Al-Tamimi in January is understood to have stemmed from his failure to move ahead on the privatisation of King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah.
