Jamaican operator plans rooftop solar installation

24 May 2019

MBJ Airports Limited, operator of Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, Jamaica, has issued a public tender for an engineering, procurement and construction contractor to build a 1 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) power generation system.

Bids are due by 14 June.

Solar PV would enable MBJ Airports to cut its energy costs, and the system would be designed to allow for future expansion.

MBJ Airports would prefer a rooftop installation at Sangster International, although it has not ruled out other locations.
