Surface treatment fights checkpoint bacteria

(Getty Images/Jaka Azman)SecurityPoint Media (SPM) has entered into an exclusive partnership agreement with fellow US company Microban International, an anti-microbial and odour control technology specialist, to clean up security checkpoint trays.

The two partners are introducing new security checkpoint trays that are treated with anti-microbial technology to inhibit the growth of bacteria on surfaces. The SecureTrays are being deployed to airports that use SPM security screening trays, with full distribution by the third quarter of 2019.
