31 May 2019

The Vitosha consortium, comprising Manchester Airports Group (MAG) of the UK and its Chinese partner Beijing Construction Engineering Group (BCEG), has released details of its bid for the concession to run Sofia Airport in Bulgaria.

Proposed investment of EUR1.5 billion (USD1.7 billion) in the airport itself – to include an airport city similar to the project implemented at Manchester by MAG and BCEG - would be accompanied by EUR600 million on a new national sports stadium for the Bulgarian capital, to open before the 2024 Winter Youth Olympics.
