Studio ORD to design O’Hare Global Terminal

The City of Chicago has awarded the Studio ORD joint venture (JV) the USD160 million lead architect contract to design the USD8.5 billion Global Terminal and Global Concourse at Chicago O’Hare International Airport.

The contract was awarded after a competitive tender under the O’Hare 21 expansion programme.

Partners in the winning JV are Studio Gang Architects Ltd, Corgan Associates Inc, STL Architects Inc, Milhouse Engineering & Construction Inc, and Solomon Cordwell Buenz & Associates JV.

Three construction manager at-risk (CMAR) contracts for essential O’Hare 21 projects, each valued at USD116 million, were also awarded by the city authorities. The selected CMARs are Austin Power Partners, Turner Paschen Aviation Partners, and AECOM Hunt Clayco JV.
