Aviation sector must continue to evolve its cyber mind-set

The industry is alive to the issue of cyber security, but more work is required for it to remain agile in response to evolving threats

Industry and government experts are warning that the air transport sector must pay closer attention to cyber security because the nature of the threat is changing.

"Today, most cyber attacks against the aviation sector are low-level attacks with limited impact. Airports are usually associated with nation states, and therefore have been targeted as such … across the globe," said Vivien Eberhardt, head of cyber security business development at SITA, during the CyberTech 2017 Conference in Tel Aviv in January.
