Lebanon pledges to bring security in line with ICAO norms

The Lebanese government is to invest in a substantial security systems upgrade at Beirut Rafik Hariri International Airport, public works and transport minister Youssef Fenianos has announced.

The Lebanese Cabinet is to grant the Public Works Ministry USD28 million to buy new screening systems. Fenianos added that the aim is to bring the airport up to ICAO Annex 17 standards for security.
