Brazilian air navigation service provider (Departamento de Controle do Espaço Aéreo: DECEA) is in discussions to purchase the new TRAC NG L-band primary en-route surveillance radar from Thales.
TRAC NG was officially launched during the Paris Air Show in June 2017, but Thales has already reported orders from 14 civil and military customers before the first planned factory acceptance test in January 2018. The radar is jointly manufactured by Thales in France and its wholly owned Brazilian subsidiary Omnisys, and includes components from Lines, Infodip, Meinberg, Schneider Electric, and NetGear.
TRAC NG has an operating range of up to 250 n miles.
