Officials at Oakland International Airport have told Jane’s they expect to complete a USD45 million expansion of the Terminal 1 International Arrivals Building (IAB) in November 2017.
Work began in August 2016 to add 14,000 ft2 to the existing structure.
The project includes an extension to an existing passenger boarding bridge supplied by JBT AeroTech; an additional baggage carousel from Vanderlande; and installation of 16 BORDERXPRESS Automatic Passport Control (APC) kiosks from YVR.
Turner Construction Company, Inc. is the contractor and AE3 is the lead architect.
Today, operations at T1 IAB are limited to a single Group V aircraft (generally narrowbodies or widebodies carrying up to 300 passengers).
