Lufthansa and Fraport have for the first time signed a deal on short-term cost savings at Frankfurt Airport, the carrier's primary hub.
"The agreement will also provide the basis for further discussions regarding a medium and long-term partnership," Lufthansa and Fraport announced on 5 July 2017.
Initially, Fraport is to freeze airline charges for the next 12 months. The deal also focuses on increasing efficiency and cutting costs at Frankfurt, by optimising the use of available infrastructure and leveraging predictive technologies and processes. The two parties also aim to improve the passenger experience at Frankfurt by optimising non-aeronautical services.
